The Red Devils are the latest club to lodge their interest in the services of the PSG star, who has been heavily linked with Barcelona. The 24-year-old has reportedly been waiting for the Spanish giants to break the bank for him, but the modern money-splashing Manchester United can outbid the Catalan giants to land the talented midfielder.
According to reports in Tuttomercatoweb, Jose Mourinho has sent club scout Jose Mayorga to talk to the camp of Verratti about a possible switch to Old Trafford. The reports also suggest that Manchester United have been following the Italian international closely for quite a few months.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain are adamant that their midfield talisman will not be sold at any cost during this transfer window.
Recently, the club even pressurized Verratti to give a public statement that he is happy at PSG, and his agent has tried to induce transfer talks about him. However, it is believed that the French giants will be happy to sell the player for transfer bids in the region of €80m.
Jose Mourinho is keen to add another midfielder in his squad before the season begins in August. The Portuguese has tried to sign Nemanja Matic and Eric Dier already, but he hasn’t had much success in negotiating with Chelsea and Tottenham respectively.
Manchester United are said to be ready to burn even more cash to meet the demands of PSG, given Verratti agrees personal terms beforehand.
