Mourinho’s U-Turn To Complicate Real Madrid’s Summer Transfer Plans

Real Madrid are set to face a tricky transfer market, following Manchester United’s decision to end their interest in long-term target Alvaro Morata.
The Red Devils have been linked with the Spanish forward for many months, but Real’s reluctance to not sell Morata for less than £80m has now backfired on them, as United have reportedly agreed a fee of £75m for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku on Wednesday.

The news dominated the headlines, just a day after Los Blancos rejected a £70.2m bid from the Premier League giants.

Following their historic claiming of the Champions League and La Liga double, there is no denying that the expectations were sky-high of what Real Madrid are going to do in the summer transfer market.

Despite the current squad being considered as one of the best and not in need of any major additions, the general plan in Florentina Perez’s mind was to move players like Morata and James Rodriguez, who were left frustrated with limited playing time last season.
