Neymar is reportedly 'uncomfortable' at Barcelona and has been told by associates that he should leave and seek the limelight elsewhere. The Brazil international joined the Catalan giants in 2013 and has played alongside Lionel Messi, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner who is regarded as one of the greatest players in the world.
Neymar has developed into one of the best forwards in Europe during his time with Barcelona but Sport believe he is becoming uncomfortable at playing second fiddle to Messi, with his advisors telling him to seek a move elsewhere in order to become a club's main man.
The report also claims Neymar has been told “by the side of Messi you will always be second, you will always be in his shadow”.
Sport also revealed at the end of last season he had already spoken to Jose Mourinho on the phone.
Neymar previously joked he could leave Barcelona for a minnow in La Liga, stating: “Who knows what will happen tomorrow? I’ve adapted, but anything can happen, who knows. Manchester? Yes… or Eibar.”
An exit from Barcelona will not be easy for Neymar, with the 24-time La Liga winners likely to demand €130m for the 25-year-old's signature, having originally splashed out €57.1m for the forward back in 2013.
Neymar also has a Barcelona contract valid until 2021, earning a salary of €15m-a-season with a release clause worth €200m for this summer, rising to €250m by his final three seasons at the Nou Camp.
