Arsenal continued their love affair with Wembley Stadium after defeating Chelsea on penalties in the Community Shield.
The Gunners, who defeated Chelsea at the home of English football in May’s FA Cup final, secured their first piece of silverware of the 2017-18 season after winning 4-1 on penalties.
The contest finished 1-1 after 90 minutes, Sead Kolasinac equalising after Victor Moses gave Chelsea the lead, but Chelsea were woeful in the new ABBA penalty format, Thibaut Courtois and Alvaro Morata both missing the target from 12 yards.
Their misses allowed Olivier Giroud to fire home the winning spot kick.
So, not the best starts to his Chelsea career for Morata, then.
